Velle Dental uses SprintRay 3D printers and resins which are at the forefront of the industry and allow us to offer the best possible quality 3D printed products. Combined with our iTero intraoral scanner and Exocad digital design software, Velle Dental has refined the 3D printed dentistry process into an art form.

3D printed dentistry is advancing rapidly in quality and efficiency. While zirconia and gold crowns and feldspathic veneers are still currently the top-of-the-line options for restoration in most cases, 3D printed ceramic restorations are likewise of high quality and will, very soon, be virtually indistinguishable from these other options. 3D restorations are already superior to composite resin fillings: unlike composite fillings, 3D printed inlays and onlays lower the chance of tooth fracture and actually INCREASE the bonding strength of teeth over time.

3D printed dentistry has several advantages compared to other “same day” treatment options:

  • Efficiency — Other same day treatment options are limited to milling crowns one at a time. This process takes close to 3 hours. By utilizing 3D printing, Velle Dental can produce a FULL MOUTH of dental restorations, including crowns and veneers, in about 20 minutes. By the time a patient leaves their 3D restoration appointment, they will have their PERMANENT restorations placed.
  • Cost — 3D printing allows us to eliminate outsourced laboratory costs, making 3D restorations less costly for patients.
  • Conservative — Milled restorations are bulky and require drilling away a good amount of the original tooth to ensure a proper fit. Velle Dental 3D restorations are printed thinner and more accurately than milled restorations: more of the original tooth is maintained with 3D dentistry.
  • Aesthetics — Our 3D printed restorations are hand-painted in our office. This allows us to match the shade of your 3D restorations to your teeth exactly, without having to rely on color charts used in an external laboratory.
  • Control — When having a laboratory produce restorations, there is always a slight chance of error through miscommunication. By removing the external laboratory, 3D dentistry gives the Velle Dental team a greater amount of quality control. We direct the entire design and production process from start to finish. You can even watch our team at work in making your restorations!
