The images produced by these X-rays, whether traditional or digital, will help your dentist find oral abnormalities that are not obvious to the human eye.
PROFESSIONAL CLEANINGS
Your dental hygienist will begin the cleaning by looking at the surface of your teeth to see whether you have any cavities and to check the condition of any fillings you already have. The hygienist will also perform a periodontal exam to ensure that your gums are tightly attached to your teeth and that there is no periodontal disease or bone loss. They will then clean your teeth thoroughly.

Your hygienist will use a variety of tools to carefully clean your teeth and remove any hard mineral buildup (tartar). They will then floss your teeth, polish them, and apply fluoride.

If your dentist or hygienist discovers tooth decay or gum disease, they will discuss modifying your brushing and flossing routines with you.
